A Multitudes Manifesto

Multitudes
We found and fund companies that deepen the human experience.

For centuries, we have pointed our curiosity outward—crossing oceans, splitting atoms, voyaging beyond the edge of the atmosphere. We have become extraordinary explorers of outer space.

Artificial intelligence is the latest leap in that outward reach—giving us more cognitive horsepower than ever before and accelerating progress at a staggering scale. Yet even as technology races ahead, loneliness deepens, trust erodes, and society struggles to find its footing.

This moment creates both the room and the urgency to explore the other frontier: inner space.

We have spent centuries mappingouter space.Multitudes founds and funds the companies chartinginner space.

The Perennial Questions

The inner frontier is what comes next: the irreducibly human layer, the part of a life that can only be experienced by being lived.

It begins within—knowing ourselves and navigating our inner lives—and it radiates outward into how we love, trust, belong, and connect with the greater whole.

Turning inward helps us steady ourselves amidst the greatest uncertainties, rooting us in the perennial human questions:

{{ q.words }}?

Humanity has wrestled with these questions for millennia. What's new is not the inquiry, but the intensity: we are being asked to navigate questions of identity, purpose, and belonging at unprecedented scale and velocity, just as many of the frameworks that once held them are eroding.

When technology is no longer the constraint, the human becomes the opportunity.
02 — What we believe
02

What we believe

Exploring inner space draws on a distinct human capacity: spiritual intelligence (SQ). It finds expression across philosophy, religion, science, and psychology. Like cognitive intelligence (IQ) and emotional intelligence (EQ), SQ can be cultivated.

We use the word spiritual deliberately. While we have searched for language that might feel less polarizing or loaded, none captures the territory as fully or truthfully. At the same time, we recognize that this domain has often been divided into opposing camps: mysticism on one side, modern rationalism on the other.

We don't believe it has to be that way. Ancient wisdom and modern rigor are not opposites—they are partners waiting to be reintroduced.

Spiritual Intelligence
SQ

The human capacity to engage questions of meaning, purpose, identity, and connection—and to apply those insights to how we understand ourselves, relate to others, and choose how to live.

At Multitudes, we’re building and investing in the companies that help people develop SQ.

We are especially drawn to ideas at the edges of human consciousness because what begins at the margins often reshapes the mainstream.

Meditation moved from counterculture into hospitals. Attachment theory, once heavily contested, is now a foundation of developmental psychology. The adult brain was once thought to be largely fixed, yet neuroplasticity is now fundamental to neuroscience. Psychedelic research moved from prohibition into clinical trials. And consciousness itself, once considered beyond the reach of empirical science, is now the subject of serious interdisciplinary inquiry.

When an idea challenges what we think we know, we look closer—with openness to the question and rigor in pursuit of the answer.

03 — Three dimensions of SQ
03

Three dimensions
of SQ

SQ starts within and radiates outward, across three dimensions:

Every venture we build creates deeper connection—within, between, or beyond.
04 — How we build
04

How we build

Multitudes is a venture studio—but not a traditional one. We don't believe in growing at all costs and breaking things. Rather, we build with intention, care, and collaboration.

While we didn’t coin the term “SQ,” we are working to establish it as a credible and widely developed domain of human intelligence. Alongside interdisciplinary advisors, researchers, practitioners, and global thought leaders, we are mapping the modern Spiritual Intelligence Ecosystem. Together, we are co-creating the shared language, taxonomy, trusted frameworks, and infrastructure that can bring greater rigor, coherence, and accessibility to the field.

Field-building informs company-building; company-building tests and advances the field.

We respect the economic forces that shape society—capital, technology, attention, and competition—but we refuse to mistake our constraints for our compass. There are companies that extract wealth and companies that create value—and let wealth flow from it. We believe in the latter.

We use AI to lower the cost of transformation, while honoring the humanity through which transformation ultimately occurs.
05 — The paradox
05

The paradox

The tension

There is an obvious tension here: artificial intelligence is one of the conditions creating the disorientation. Why would we use it to address the very problem it helped cause?

History suggests technological dislocations are resolved, in part, by the very forces that created them. The printing press dislocated authority—and became the scaffolding of new institutions. The internet dislocated distance—and became the nervous system of a connected world.

AI is turning our attention to inner space by taking on more of the outer world.

The possibility

And here is the possibility inside the paradox.

Much of the wisdom already exists; access to it does not.

AI can put a patient guide within reach at 2 AM, translate a practice refined over two thousand years into the language of one modern life, and meet a person at the exact moment their question arrives.

AI could be one of the most powerful tools we have for developing society’s SQ.

06 — Why now
06

Why now

The companies that will define the next decade will not be the ones that automate the second-order questions. Those will be commodities within years.

The defining companies of this era will help people answer first-order questions:

  1. {{ q.n }} {{ q.text }}

The questions are eternal and universal.

The infrastructure to hold them—with the tools of this moment, for the people of this moment—is what we are here to build.
